Hello! I’ve been growing amaryllis from seed for a few months, and they’re each a few inches tall; around 3-5 with some having two leaves. Do they need to be put into dormancy, too? A few of them have yellowed leaves and I’m worrying a lot right now. I’ve given them some hydrogen peroxide to get rid of fungus gnats in the past, and have recently changed their watering schedule to once every week and have added coffee grounds to their soil. Is it my caretaking that’s the problem or are they just going into dormancy? It’s late summer where I’m at if you’re curious.

What if you have one or rather two that have never bloomed. I live on the East Coast in FL and I got two of them from a friend about three years ago. They were in two separate pots and once I took the time to find out what they were I planted them in the ground in April. I had green leaves but they all died off. I now have green leaves again but no sign of a flower. Should I plant them back in a pot?

Hi! I'm new to growing amaryllis, and I have a pot of around 20 seedlings that have been growing for about 6 months. Most of them have reddening of some sort. Does this solution work for seedlings with fungal infections, too? Is there anything else I can do to take care of them?

I’m on my 2nd try of seeds ever. I just found you page and wanted to say thank you for making these videos and having this channel. I think it’s incredible you do this. I’m so impressed with your use of technology. My mom struggles to even text! I think you’ve inspired me to make some videos! My seeds have just started to root. I did a different way than you but I want to see what you do next!

I had plans to divide the daughter bulb from my mother bulb and then set them both outside for more sunlight right away, but it looks like that wouldn't have been a good idea (especially since the UV factor is very high in my location). Thank you for posting this - you may have just saved my amaryllis!

I have two that I forgot to pot last year that are growing like CAZY!! When should I cut them down, how long should I leave them in a cool, dark place before I bring them out again? Cannot wait to have the money to get some from you!!! Soon!! 🥰

This year i had seeds from my picotee . Im floating seeds now ! Last years babies are all beautiful from the all red ones and from the pink ones ! Some even have acapes that are 9 inches tall! Anxious about the picotee.. i know ..i know.. be patient.. lol

Im so glad Ive found you! I live in Florida, it's May, and beginning to get quite hot outside. Im wondering, I have seeds I'm drying out now. Should I refrigerate them until cooler weather or go ahead and try to germinate them in the shade at 90°+ weather? Tia!

Amaryllis Man, you are TERRIFIC! You have given us all so much information on this beautiful plant. I am currently growing some seedlings and will transplant them when they get the right size. I am in awe of this plant. I have four different varieties that I plant at different times so I always have one to enjoy. Thank you again for sharing your love and knowledge of this plant with all of us!

Does this mean you could get a mixture of both flower colors in one flower?

I grow amaryllis indoors, in LECA, so bottom watered, no soil. They bloomed beautifully but I think a bulb was infested and all my amaryllis got it. I've cut the leaves , cleaned the bulb, sprayed with anti-fungal (copper based) but the red blotch is back. I tried yesterday Hydrogen Peroxide (6%) , with water (1 to 4 ratio). I don't think it will recover as I can see some red spots on the roots also :( I live in uk so unfortunately these two brands are unavailable here it seems.
